Which test is best for you?

Rapid antigen test

If you want to know if you’re infected with the coronavirus, go for the rapid antigen test. For example when you’re having respiratory symptoms or if you have been exposed to someone who tested positive. We use the Roche Rapid Antigen test, which is CE-certified and also used by the GGD/Municipal Health Authorities. The certificate with the result are available within 30 minutes and will be sent to you by secure email.

PCR test

If you need a proof of a negative coronatest for traveling, take the PCR test. This test is accepted by almost all countries as proof of a negative corona test. The test is taken at our testing facility and sent to an external laboratory for analysis. Therefore, it may take up to 24 hours before you receive the result and certificate by secure email. It is your responsibility to check all travel requirements and if this test will be sufficient.

Antibody test

The rapid antibody test uses a little droplet of blood to test if you have antibodies against the coronavirus, which means you’ve been infected by the coronavirus in the past.

How does it work?

  1. Come to our testing location at the time of your test in Rotterdam at Brielselaan 69.

  2. Bring a valid identification document. We will check your identity.

  3. The entrace is located at the metal gate on the side of the road next to the water.

  4. Call us at 06-34514254 to let us know that you have arrived.

  5. One of our testing crew members will pick you up.

  6. A facemask is mandatory. Clean your hands after entering our facility.

  7. With a cotton swab we will gently take fluid from the back of your throat and nose.

  8. You can go back directly after the test. You will receive the result by email after 15 to 30 minutes if you’ve chosen for a rapid antigen or antibody test. If you have chosen for a PCR test, you will receive the certificate with the result within 24 hours.

If you require a paper certificate with a rapid antigen test, you can wait at our testing facility for the result and certiifcate.

Positive test result

If you test positive, it means that you are infected with the coronavirus. We will urgently advise you to go home and isolate yourself. We are required to report any positive test result to the local GGD with your name, date of birth, phone number and address. The GGD will contact you for contact tracing and further information.

Limitations of testing

A negative result means that there is no detectable coronavirus in your nose or throat at the moment of testing. However, every tests has its limitations. All tests are a snapshot of the moment of testing, and the results depend on the moment of taking the test. You may still get infected after the test or have already been infected but with too few virus particles for the test to detect resulting in a false negative result. The PCR is considered the most sensitive for testing on the coronavirus and the rapid antigen tests have a sensitivety of approximately 95% compared to the PCR test.
